The Nissan S30 (sold in Japan as the Nissan Fairlady Z and in other markets as the Datsun 240Z) is the first generation of Z GT 3-door two-seat coupés, produced by Nissan Motors, Ltd. of Japan from 1969 until 1978. One of the most successful sports car lines ever produced.
This 1973 Datsun 240Z is finished in metallic red over tan vinyl upholstery, and power is provided by a numbers-matching 2.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Mishimoto aluminum radiator, dual SU carburetors, an AM/FM stereo, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Recent maintenance consisted of an oil change and a replacement battery. This S30 is now offered with the removed factory parts, a replacement headlight bezel, a jack, and a clean US title.
Previously finished in brown, the car was repainted some time ago in its current shade of metallic red and features chrome bumpers with rub strips. Clearcoat failure is noted throughout the body, and dents are present on the passenger-side fender and headlight bezel.
A set of 14″ steel wheels wear factory covers and are wrapped in 195/70 Practiva Premium A/S tires up front and 195/75 Cooper Weather-Master S/T rubber out back.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in tan vinyl with matching door panels. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, and an armrest. The carpets are missing and loose wiring in the floorboards is visible. The air conditioning compressor has been removed and the lines have been blocked off.
A three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates almost 55k miles.
The 2.4-liter L24 inline-six is fitted with a Mishimoto aluminum radiator, SU carburetors with spacers, a tubular exhaust manifold, and an aftermarket exhaust system and air cleaners. The battery was replaced in September 2021 and an oil change was performed recently. The carburetors have been rebuilt and a tune-up was also performed. A pair of Hitachi carburetors and the factory air cleaner are included in the sale.
Engine block stamping 175951 matches the number shown on the data plate.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The secondary clutch hydraulic cylinder was replaced.
